How I got started

My path to writing began in a classroom. As a high school English teacher in metropolitan Milwaukee, I taught students how to craft strong narratives. Later, while volunteering for a nonprofit supporting a Tanzanian school for underserved children, I wrote about education. So I went from teaching about writing to writing about teaching.

Next Steps

Since then, my articles have appeared in regional and national magazines. I have also expanded my content writing business, specializing in the senior living, healthcare, environmental, travel, and education sectors. From producing a whitepaper for an elder-tech company in Switzerland to blogging about household safety issues like toxic gases, my work stands out for its research-driven accuracy, SEO-smart content, and pithy language.

What Sets My Writing Apart

I would say that my greatest strengths as a writer are creativity, curiosity, and an ability to capture nuance. I am also a stickler for getting work in on time.

Real-World Communications Experience

In addition to working in education, I also have served as the Communications Director for a nonprofit organization. In this role, I worked with a variety of professionals across the organization to produce fundraising letters, brochures, event promotions, even video scripts — and built lasting donor relationships using content marketing tools such as website content, blog posts, newsletters, and eBooks.
